Dear Dick,
So, how is retirement going for ya? Finding it a little difficult to step out of the spotlight? Finding it a little difficult to let go of the reins you held so tightly for 8 years? Might I suggest taking up golf? Or perhaps you would enjoy putting together some of those latch-hook rugs?

Cuz, seriously, I think we’ve had enough Dick for awhile. And believe me, nobody is more surprised than me that those words came from me. Normally dick is one of my favorite things…

But, lets return to the topic at hand, shall we? You want us to believe that the only thing hold back terrorists from attacking us is the threat of torture? You want us to believe the only method for collecting info on terrorist activities is torture…sorry, enhanced interrogation techniques?

Even if the information obtained from torture could be deemed reliable, how can we possibly justify behaving this way?

We are at war, you say? Did we let the Japanese use that as excuse for torturing our prisoners of war? Um, no, I think we executed them for it.

First you ask us to give up our privacy and constitutionally protected rights and now you ask us to give up our integrity and our honor and perhaps the very soul of this country as we abandon our ethics and morals in favor of an illusion that somehow we are safer for our actions.

Yes, I think I’ve had just about enough of Dick.
