Beware: It's Monday and I am in a good mood.

duckieThat’s right. I don’t get it either, but I am decidedly not grumpy this Monday A.M. and really can’t put a finger on specifically why. Probably, it’s a combination of things, not the least of which is that I had time to pick up coffee from my favorite shop before work.

It might also have something to do with the fact that, over the weekend, a certain Alaskan governor stepped down. What was her name again?

Oh, (not that this has anything to do with the last paragraph, but) this is the last week to buy a day in the 2010 NYC Sex Bloggers’ Calendar so if you were thinking about it, it’s now or never.

In completely unrelated news, I really wish the media would stop focusing exclusively on the “process” of health care reform and perhaps talk about the details for the average person. How is my life going to change if it passes?

This morning, headlines declare health care reform doomed simply because they are not going to pass anything by the deadline the President set. Stop being so damn melodramatic. We knew this was the case and the President has already said he would rather they get it right than in by his arbitrary deadline.

The idea that time is somehow running out and once this deadline passes we are screwed out of getting anything at all is pure fabrication and hyperbole for the purpose of stirring up drama.

Consider this administration has been working on this all of 6 months and we’ve been talking about trying to do this since 1992 when Clinton was elected. We’ve been dicking around for seventeen years and now suddenly there is a 6 month expiration date?

Y’all are threatening my remarkably cheerful Monday morning.>:(

Sarah Palin is no longer governor of anything.

Ok, now I am happy again. :D
