Amorous is the 3rd vibrator I’ve tried from the Cal Ex Couture line. The first being the Petite Couture Enchanted, which was ok, but not great, and the 2nd was the Couture Collection Rhythm which was a vast improvement over the Enchanted, for me personally.
So now, the Couture Collection Rhythm is something of a hybrid of those two: small, with dual stimulation.
This Pepto-Bismal Pink is feature rich with three vibration settings and four pulsation patterns, as well as three shaft rotation settings. It has a pleasing, narrow shaft with gentle ridges that follow the length of the shaft. Rarely am I a fan of pulsation settings. I don’t know if I just don’t have the patience for them or what, but these I did make extensive use of and found them to be effective and pleasing stimulation.
It’s going to appeal to those who prefer a narrow shaft (1.25 inches) on the shorter side (4.75 inches, instertable) with a strong, medium to low frequency, vibration. This one sits right on the fence in terms of vibration, sometimes feeling a bit too buzzy for me, but other times quite thuddy which is my preference.
Pure Silicone
This vibe is made of pure silicone and unlike the Enchanted, which I found just too squishy to provide the stiff internal stimulation I prefer, the Amorous silicone is soft and smooth in texture, but the shaft inner workings provide a stiff base for G-spot stimulation. The texture is a smooth, matte surface vs a shiny silicone, which means it has a certain amount of drag which can be eliminated successfully with a water-based lube.
Rotation
I was unimpressed with the rotation functions, but then few rabbit vibes with rotating shafts or beads do much for me. The shaft rotation is just loud and “gear grinding” enough to annoy me and make me skip using it entirely, but otherwise the vibrator is pretty quiet.
I am a fan of the control panel for this toy. Three buttons give you control over instant on or off, clit vibration level and shaft rotation level. Nothing is more annoying than having to cycle through 5 – 10 settings to get to the off button.
As is often the case, this particular shaft length and placement of the clit vibrator were not ideal for my anatomy. This is the hardest part about buying any rabbit-style toy for the first time. If you don’t know for sure what fits you best, it’s always a gamble. What works best for me seems to be a longer shaft that can be inserted more deeply and a clit stimulator that flexs a bit to sit against my clit instead of stabbing firmly into the flesh (for me, clit stabbing is never a good thing).
This particular vibe does have that flexibility, but the shaft wasn’t long enough to suit me. That said, it kinda worked ok and I still enjoyed using it.
Waterproof
I did fill up a sink and submerge this toy underwater, power on, for a good five minutes. Other reviews I’ve read say it’s not waterproof and that this is a design flaw–but I found it to be watertight. So while perhaps some may have had a bad seal, the design is effective in keeping the battery compartment dry.
Overall Impression
Nothing that I disliked about this toy can be considered a design flaw. It is a bit on the spendy side for a small vibe, but it is made of body safe material and you rarely find a good silicone (or good rabbit, for that matter) toy for less than this. For someone who wants a body safe toy on the smaller side, this may be well worth the price.
This toy was provided to me at no cost, in exchange for my review by California Exoctics. You can order your own at my favorite toy store just click the box below.
