It appears that in the coming days, the bill providing health care and financial benefits to 9/11 first responders suffering ill health as a result of their working at Ground Zero will actually pass. Good. It’s about fucking time. Actually, it’s well past fucking time.
But you know what? I am so disgusted by the actions of the Senate Republicans on this matter, I can’t even begin to describe my anger.
You held up this bill over tax breaks for people making over 200K a year?
Seriously?
SERIOUSLY?
What kind of heartless, self-serving assholes demand tax cuts for the wealthy in exchange for providing health care to heroes, civil rights to soldiers (in the case of DADT) and unemployment benefits to people who HAVE NO INCOME—because these tax cuts we “need to stimulate job growth” have yet to actually stimulate a damn thing in the 10 years they’ve already been in place?
Motherfuckers.
People have died while you’ve held up this bill.
People. Have. Died.
Oh, but hey, at least nobody’s taxes are going up on January 1st.

I think I love your dad too!
Ditto to the stabby. While watching some R pontificate on tax cuts for the very wealthy, including the estate tax, and how they will create jobs, I turned to my dad and said “I’m no economist, but how, EXACTLY, is an estate tax going to create jobs???” He turned a page of his newspaper and replied “Maybe they’ll have enough money to hire yet another servant. That would create a job.”
I love my dad. I hate Republicans.
This makes me feel all kinds of stabby. These politicians really need to get over themselves.

I am absolutely livid about this. I can’t even find words. It’s the most disgusting political game I’ve ever seen.
